H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama Appointed as Chairman of the Board of the Gulf Payments Company

On Thursday, 4 June 2026, the Gulf Payments Company held the twenty-second meeting of its Board of Directors and the sixth Ordinary General Assembly meeting of the Company’s shareholders. The Board appointed H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors for its third term, covering the period from 7 June 2026 to 6 June 2029. He succeeds H.E. Ahmed bin Jaafar bin Salem Al-Musalmi, Governor of the Central Bank of Oman, whose chairmanship of the Board’s second term concluded on 6 June 2026, while His Excellency continues as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors.

The Board extended its thanks to H.E. Ahmed bin Jaafar bin Salem Al-Musalmi for chairing the Board during its second term, and expressed its appreciation for the efforts he made throughout his tenure, whose contributions had a positive impact on the achievements realized by Gulf Payments Company.
