Appointment of His Excellency Taher bin Salim Al Amri as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Payments Company
On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, the fourteenth meeting of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Payments Company was held. The Board appointed during the meeting His Excellency the CEO of the Central Bank of Oman, Taher bin Salim Al Amri, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company in its second term for the period from June 7, 2023, to June 6, 2026, in succession to the governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, His Excellency, Rashid Mohammed Al Miraj, whose term as chairman of the Board ended on June 6, 2023, and retains his membership in the company’s Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors chose His Excellency, the Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Khaled Mohamed Balama, as Vice-Chairman for the second term.
The Board thanked His Excellency, Rashid Al Miraj, for chairing the Board in its first term, and appreciated the efforts made during his term period, which coincided with the founding of the company, where his contributions had a positive impact on the achievements of the Gulf Payments Company. The Board also extended its thanks to His Excellency, Taher bin Salim Al Amri, the Vice-Chairman of the Council during the first term.
It is worth mentioning that the company’s Board of Directors consists of twelve Members representing the Central Banks of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.News
